The dog was able to detect lung cancer by smell. Really?
As quoted from ABS-CBN, the dog can detect surprisingly lung cancer, through smell, based on a pilot-project in Austria.
With the invention of the two-year study is expected to offer a solution early diagnosis of the disease.
"Dogs do not have problems in identifying patients with tumors," said Dr. Peter Errhalt, from hospitals Hospital Krems in northern Austria, which is one of the authors in the study.
The tests showed up to 70% success rate for the identification of cases of cancer by dogs, with 120 samples of breath, "added Dr Errhalt.
The results of this study are also supported by a number of previous studies, one of which was conducted by German scientists in 2011.
